I am not sure if someone would like to give you his/her mail at the beginning of an interview. Maybe it would be easier for you to ask this question at the end (if the person is interested in our product)
ReplyDeleteThank you Julia:) it actually makes sense to put it at the end.
DeleteGood point Julia, and in what way would you need someone to tell you their gender? Folks you are about to have your interview protocols put to the sword in the classroom & in the real world!! How would you like to receive a set of questions like those above in the order that they have been presented and what is the intention in these questions? To satisfy your biz school prof that you are doing something or to engage interesting people and show yourselves to be interesting people? Personally, I would fall asleep if I had the questions above posited to me in most situations
ReplyDeleteGood evening Sir,
DeleteI am sorry, but I think your comment above is incorrect towards the students' work. Moreover, all the materials that you have posted on the blog such as "buyer needs analysis guide" , "template for your buyer personas" , etc. all include the questions about gender and other demographics. I guess that made it really confusing
Team PierJon has extremely similar questions, including gender, yet you said it was "an excellent idea". Please explain why asking for their gender is not useful. We thought it is a good way to build a better picture of a customer profile.
DeleteAlso we have amended the questionnaire with Julia's good advice regarding the placement of the e-mail.
We feel that these questions are good for determining whether our candidate would want to buy the Fabulyzer or not which is time saving and above all what we are trying to find out so we have 10 customer profiles.
